Inside Version 5: Avatars
We wanted to show you a taste of what is in development for v5. In the next release of the ProBoards® message board software we have a whole new avatar system. This system will let you design your own custom avatar -- face, eyes, hair, etc, and automatically add it to your profile. There are literally hundreds of thousands of possible combinations. What exactly are we talking about?

The eyes are a little too intense. This looks like something I'd be interested in once it's been more developed. (aka: I might want it for my board once there's more variety. ;) I have faith in you guys.)

I didn't like it that much, unfortunately. It would be good if you could allow the administrator to disable/enable it.

I hope we can still use the avatars we use now and not just those ones. They are ok but I prefer to use my pics as avatars.

Looks good, except for the eyes, which I find very creepy. Could you maybe make them more like-able? Otherwise it looks good.

I don't really like it, although I'm excited for Version 5. But I'm not sure if I what my members to use it. I have animal RPGs, so the people would be confusing...

..since when are you guys telepathic?? I was thinking about how to make such an avatar-system in flash and *poof* you guys make my problem disappear!
This is ideal for roleplay forums!
And would it be possible for admin to insert their own templates (for e.g. hairstyles, hair colors, eye colors.. ) ?

I hope that we will be able to add our own hair, face, skin, eyes, and even bases to it. Because the demo av is a little..weird. xD
Maybe a shop option with this? Where peopple would have to post to earn points and then use those points to buy clothes and stuff.

I think it is cute, but I think that people should still be able to use their own avatars too. If all we could use was the demo avatar, many graphic shops, RPG sites, and the idea of inividuality would no longer be possible. (wow that was long :P)
