Version 4.5 Upgrades

We have begun the process of mass converting servers to version 4.5. Today we started on servers 70-89 and hope to push forward with more servers in the coming days. I understand many of you have been waiting for this update for a while now and I am happy to announce it is on it's way to you.

Anyone on servers 70-89 can simply login to their admin panel and click the upgrade link at the top to convert their forum. Anyone who does not opt to convert now will be converted within a few days automatically.

  • My forum has been upgraded but I dont see any upgrades. Outside of the new thread jump nothing seems to have happened???

  • You could try to modify a category and see if oyu can restrict access by post count, etc.

  • Finnally. I was so excited when i go on and it said on the page that it was upgraded. But then i looked down the page and there wasnt an active users in the past 24 hours. So when i clicked on the link in the admin panel, it still didnt appear and i got mad. Then 10 minuets later it finnally
    upgraded.

    Well, anyways, thanks for your hard work. And i cant wait till v5!

  • What about servers in the 50s and 60s? I had a 4.5 upgrade a few months ago on my previous site, and it had a few bugs, mainly with displaying your member name twice on the "Users Active in the Past 24 Hours" area.

  • Im having some minor problems with the new 4.5 upgrades. My karma levels have all been reset and I am unable to change them back for the posters on my forum.
    Can someone take a look at this and let me know what needs to be done?

    ALSO: Is there a way to embed youtube videos into posts?

  • Hey, i dind't upgrade our forum yet, cause im using a template and some additional codes for my forum, and i fear that once i upgrade to 4.5 i lose everything, does the upgrade remove all ur coding in headers footers etc?
    Or doesn't the upgrade affect ur template's and stuff?

  • All these upgrades yet STILL no email notifications for topics PM's etc on proboards?
    That is one feature you certainly should install

  • James, this isn't the place for support, but I feel the need to address your post since it contains misleading information.

    Our "bookmark" feature for threads allows you to choose to get a PM or an Email when a thread is posted in. You can also choose in your PM preferences to receive an email when you get a new PM.

    If you need help with your ProBoards message board, please post on the support forum so that we can help clarify any things you are unsure about.

    Only one problem (if it can be called that) We normally get around 40 - 70 visitors a day to our site but in the past couple of days visitor hits have been up in the 900's

  • it took 4 hrs when it should not have taken more than 3 but I was told by the admin of proboards support that there was a problem with server 42 which mine was on lol. The admin fixed mine :) Now all works great :)

  • Hey, its not fair!

    I created mine yesterday(April 8th) and it hasn't asked if I want to upgrade my site and it doesn't say it anywhere on the Admin panel either =[.
    My forum is number 59 and it won't upgrade ='[.
    My friend's one did and I'm jealous =[.
    Can anyone tell me why this is?

    Plus if possible, can the admin change it?

  • How can I tell if my forum has been upgraded, will it say Version 4.5 somewhere on the board?

    Yesterday when I signed in I got a message that I could click and upgrade -- I did NOT do that.

    But today that message is gone.

    So ... is there a way to tell if my board has been upgraded automatically?

  • treehouseadmin yours is like mine where instead of now saying index.cgi it says v45index.cgi at the end of the URL. That means yours has went through the process already like mind did. They only take an hour but if yours has a LOT of scripts like mine then it could take up to 4 hrs even though they say max 3 hrs.

    Even if things get screwed up, just post on the support forums and it is fixed as they keep backups on their servers ;)

  • Thanks so much, angieskidney.com, you're quite right I hadn't noticed that "v5" in the url (observant, eh?).

    Our conversion happened without anyone noticing, we have a few glitches, some have sorted themselves out already.

    For the others, I'll check the support board.

  • HI all ...

    Remember the old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it well I am afraid all is NOT as it was. Annoyingly now when I check most recent posts it starts at the very first page instead of the most recent page for example it starts at page 1 when there are 48 pages. Most annoying.
